Method of Preparation:
Bis(dimethylaminoethyl) ether can be obtained by the reaction of dimethylethanol and dimethylamino-2-chloroethane to dehydrogenate.
Properties and Uses:
Bis(dimethylaminoethyl) ether is one of the important amine catalysts in polyurethane industry. Bis(dimethylaminoethyl) ether has very high catalytic activity and selectivity for foaming reaction, and the pure product is so active that people use diol to dilute it into solution for use.
A-1 catalyst is a catalyst formulated with 70% bis(dimethylaminoethyl) ether and 30% dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether (DPG) in mass fraction.
