MBM is a suspected carcinogen and reproductive toxin. It is also a skin and eye irritant. MBM is listed as a hazardous air pollutant by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

MBM is formed by the reaction of morpholine and formaldehyde. The reaction is carried out at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of a catalyst.

Meat and bone meal is used in a variety of applications including:

• Polyurethane Resin Curing Agent: MBM is used to cure polyurethane resins to form a hard, durable finish.

• PVC stability Agent: MBM is used to stabilize PVC against heat, light and oxygen degradation.

• Fungicide : Meat and bone meal is used as a fungicide to kill bacteria, fungi and algae.

MBM is a hazardous chemical and should be handled with care. When using an MBM, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Meat and bone meal should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and light. MBM should be kept out of the reach of children and pets.

If the MBM overflows, it should be cleaned up immediately. MBM should not be mixed with other chemicals. MBM should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
